New & More Affordable Comprehensive Group Adult Myofunctional Exercise Class - Starting at $2,000

Brooklyn Oak Dental Care & Myofunctional Me LLC are proud to be hosting a unique ongoing in-house myofunctional option

Siama Muhammad, DDS and Natalia Plaza, RDH, orofacial myofunctional therapist and breathing reeducator, have collaborated to create this more affordable project after identifying insufficient access to myofunctional exercise classes and new developments. Below is the latest class letter for you to review and learn about how we might correct or improve tethered oral tissue (tongue ties, lip ties and buccal ties), snoring, open mouth posture, bruxism, obstructive sleep apnea, tongue thrusts and more. The number of providers available to meet patients needs is low, and cost is often an obstacle for treatment as well. By teaching orofacial myofunctional exercises in a group format we can significantly lower the cost for each patient who need this therapy, and begin to overcome some of the basic obstacles to treatment. This comprehensive 8 week course is limited to 8 people per class

WHAT'S NEW: The Dr. Muhammad now offers ALF and NLA appliance therapy, and we are incorporating these appliances into the class protocol, as we believe this is the new standard of care at this point based on our ongoing continuing education in the field of functional dentistry and myofunctional sciences. We highly recommend having your appliance delivered BEFORE beginning myofunctional classes so you can be neurologically and structurally supported prior to starting muscular reeducation, which will also put your nervous system and physiology at an advantage, helping you learn exercises faster and retain the effects better. These appliances are not mandatory to join the class, however, most patient's case studies may remain compromised if an appliance is needed and not implemented. We will now be assessing the need for ALF and NLA with every patient intake. Depending on whether you get the ALF or NLA, your enrollment fee will reflect your individualized treatment plan. The ALF is $1,500 per appliance (upper and lower =$3000) and the NLA is $700. You cannot replace one for another, as they have different uses, thus, enrollment fees will vary. The ALF approach has a plan of $100/month for adjustments as you move forward, and can include up to three phases.

The steps to complete are as follows:
1. Imaging in-office $350 with Natalia (30 mins). This amount will be pro-rated to your final enrollment fee.
2. Consultation at a later date on Zoom with Natalia Plaza, RDH, OMFT
3. Enrollment paid in full, $1650-5000 depending on which appliance you need. This is not covered by insurance.

These 3 steps MUST be completed before the first class. This class is valued at $4,500-$7,500, and can thankfully be offered for much less due to all of the procedures being in-house done by two collaborating providers. Lastly, you do not have to change dentists, as this is muscular and structural therapy and not "dental" work.

ASSESSMENTS & CONSULTATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED one week before the class begins. THIS IS A TWO STEP PROCESS. PLEASE MIND OF YOUR TIMING & COMPLETE THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

The class will feature:

1. (Optional) ALF or NLA appliance therapy according to the patient's individual needs

2. Individualized orofacial myofunctional therapy evaluation and consultation with Natalia Plaza, RDH, OMFT & Buteyko Breathing Method instructor

3. 8 orofacial myofunctional group exercise classes

4. A take-home exercise tool kit

5. Video instructions for each class

6. Two photobiomodulation laser treatments to neurologically prepare the muscles for release by improving muscle function and loosening fascial tension.

7. CO2 laser tongue tie release, i.e. frenuloplasty (when necessary; please schedule asap after enrolling).

8. Class recordings for review of discussion and concepts

9. Live Q & A with Dr. Muhammad about the frenuloplasty procedure and her technique and approach.

The class features both virtual and in-person exercise classes followed by a brief lecture (60 mins/class). You will be expected to complete exercises 3x/day on your own outside of class times for the active 8 weeks. Independent exercise sessions can run between 10-15 minutes depending on one’s level of muscular control. YOU MUST ABIDE BY THE PRE-PLANNED CLASS SCHEDULE. No personal arrangements will be made to the schedule, as we will progress as a group.
